Private Jeffrey Alan Jones  joined 2 PARA shortly before deploying for a residential tour of Northern Ireland in 1979.He died on 27 August 1979, aged just 18 years, as a result of the Warrenpoint IRA bombing in which 18 paratroopers were killed.

Pte Jones was cremated at Gwent Crematorium in Wales.
