The 14th Parachute Battalion (TA) was formed from the 5th Battalion Royal Hampshire Regiment (TA) in May 1947, serving with the 4th Parachute Brigade of the 16th Airborne Division (TA).

In April 1956 it reverted back to the 5th Battalion Royal Hampshire Regiment (TA).
