The 12th Battalion the Parachute Regiment (TA) reformed in 1947 and was redesignated 12 PARA (TA) in 1948, forming part of the 16th Airborne Division (TA).

It was amalgamated with 13 PARA (TA) in October 1956 to form 12/13 PARA (TA).
