The No 6 (Guards Parachute) Platoon, attached to 3rd Battalion, The Parachute Regiment (3 PARA) is the surviving link to the former Guards Parachute Battalion, Guards Parachute Coy and later Pathfinder Platoons.
The Guards Parachute Platoon has recently served with distinction alongside 3 PARA in Afghanistan in 2008.
