However, the photograph of Bill onboard a Beverley aircraft flying to Jordan in 1958 with 23 PFA suggests he 'hitched a ride' with 23 PFA to join his team upon arrival in Jordan. 3 Para were in Jordan in 1958, so it's possible Bill was going to rejoin them, although this is speculation.
