1st Pattern Denison, Wareings Ltd.
1942 Tug Wilson notes: This smock was issued to the then Major Ernest Stafford in December 1944 when he joined HQ 1st Airborne corps, his military career stretched from 1934-1958.
Another example of a transitional Denison which in this case is constructed from hand dyed material on the arms and back yet with a screen printed front, one of the inner chest pockets is also made from hand dyed material. This smock shows heavy signs of wear mostly due to Ernest wearing it for shooting game.
The cuffs although original to the smock are completely worn out and the crotch flap has been removed. A 'Lightning' zipper is fitted and in working order.
