Monday, 18th September 1944, on the Duitsekampweg, Sgt Dennis Smith (AFPU) photographed men of the Recce Squadron in position near the single-track railway (constructed by the Germans in 1941) which branched off from the main line at Wolfheze station to run north to Deelen airfield. The man behind the PIAT is Trooper Jimmy Cooke, of HQ-troop and kneeling next to him is Trooper Des Evans, from HQ-troops: manning the Bren gun in the cover of a tree is Trooper Freddie Brawn of C-Troop. BU 1144.
