Airborne Assault MuseumOn the 18th September 1944 1st Airborne Divisional Headquarters moved off from its overnight position on the Landing Zone towards Oosterbeek. Along with it went the AFPU and members of the PR section. Here Sgt. Smith has photographed Alan Wood (Daily Express War Correspondent) typing a dispatch on his portable Remington in a ditch alongside the Utrechtseweg. Standing in the background is Sgt. Lewis.
