Field Marshal Montgomery pins a gallantry award on a Canadian Paratrooper

Sergeant Morgan was also awarded the Military Medal by Montgomery at this investiture ceremony with took place in Namur, Belgium.

The Canadians were deployed to Belgium on Christmas Day, and this image probably comes from early 1945 during the Ardennes Offensive.

Montgomery sent an autographed photo to all the ranks who attended the ceremony. The identity of the man receiving the award here is unknown.
