The 2nd Battalion, Black Watch was converted to a Airborne unit for a short time in the immediate post-war period whilst stationed out in India (ex-Chindits).
However, the unit declined to be renamed.
They were based at Malir, near Karachi (now Pakistan), and formed part of 14th Airlanding Brigade.
