William Wright, son of William and Ellen Wright, of Crosby, Liverpool, enlisted in the Cheshire Regiment and then volunteered for airborne forces.
Lance Corporal Wright successfully completed his parachute training at RAF Kabrit, Egypt, and was posted to 11th Parachute Battalion. He took part in Operation Market Garden (Arnhem).
L/Cpl Wright was killed in action on 26 September 1944, aged 26, and is commemorated on the Groesbeek Memorial to the missing.
