William White successfully completed his parachute training course 134 at Ringway on 5 October 1944. It was noted that he showed a "good performance, cheerful, good discipline"
Sergeant White was posted to 12th Battalion, The Parachute Regiment where he served in Normandy and Ardennes.
He died on 6 January 1945 and is buried at Hotton War Cemetery, Belgium.
