OBITUARY -SERGEANT DANNY REDDIN

Sergeant D Reddin died on 7 May 1989 at the Cambridge Military Hospital while undergoing routine surgery.

Sergeant Danny Reddin possessed the ability to excel at all he did whilst maintaining a happy and relaxed attitude towards life. This gift was constantly displayed and was evident by the way he approached his military career.

He joined 2 PARA in February 1979 serving initially with B Company before joining the Signals Platoon in 1981 where he responded well to the technical nature of the work. After active service in the Falklands Campaign he attended a Standard I Signals course at Warniinster where he received a distinguished pass.

In 1985 he was promoted to full Corporal and took responsibility for the Battalion Command Post Signals Detachment; a demanding job at which he excelled.

He entered the Sergeants' Mess in 1986 when he was appointed the Signal Platoon Sergeant having served 2 PARA well - always setting the highest of standards. His humour, enthusiasm and professionalism were an example to us all.

He leaves a wife and two young children to whom we extend our deepest sympathies.

Sgt 'Danny' Reddin is buried in Aldershot Military Cemetery.
