William 'Bish' Bishop originally from Solihull. He joined 4 PARA in 2016 at the Rugby detachment, formerly a Royal Signals base. Bish proudly became the first recruit to pass P-Coy and joined D Coy at Rugby.
Bish's true passion lay in being a Physical Training Instructor, where he took immense joy in supporting recruits through their training. Shortly after earning his wings, he also qualified as a Troop Insertion Extraction Systems Operator (TIESO).
The highlight of his reserve engagement was participating in overseas adventure training with regular battalions, including memorable experiences in Germany and Egypt.
Although civilian career breaks working in the Middle East for the UAE government and their Armed Forces, focusing on developing their education and qualifications systems, have delayed his progression in 4 PARA more than anticipated. Bish's time in the reserves has served as a fantastic foundation for his civilian career, instilling in him with the confidence to embrace new opportunities.
The photo under the Dakota was captured during the 40th Anniversary celebration of Prince Charles as Colonel in Chief at Colchester.
