Private Walter H Yates

Private Walter Henry Yates was the son the William and Annie Yates, and husband of Gertrude Maggie Elizabeth Yates, of Longfleet, Poole Dorsetshire. He served with 3rd Parachute Battalion, HQ Coy and took part in the Battle of Arnhem, during Op Market Garden. 

Private Yates died during the Battle between 18-25 September 1944, aged 46 years old. He is now buried at Oosterbeek War Cemetery, Arnhem.
