Thomas Wolfgang Simpson joined The Parachute Regiment in 1967 and after completing his training was posted to 3 PARA.
He saw service in Northern Ireland in 1971, 1976, 1978 and 1981 and served two United Nations tours of Cyprus in 1972 and 1986.
He served or trained in the following countries; Malaya, Germany, Malta, Denmark, USA, Canada, Cyprus, Libya, Italy, Greece and Ghana.
W02 'Tommy' Simpson also served two years postings at the Depot Parachute Regiment and Airborne Forces, Browning Barracks, Aldershot and with the 15th (T.A.) Battalion, The Parachute Regiment in Scotland.
Since retiring Tommy has involved himself in several ‘projects’ to remember the sacrifices of the Parachute Regiment & Airborne Forces.
