Private Thomas J Hughes

Private Thomas Joseph Hughes was the son of Thomas and Helen Hughes, of Manchester, and husband of Joan Hughes, of Whalley Range, Manchester. He served with Officers Mess of Battalion HQ, 11th Parachute Battalion and took part in the Battle of Arnhem, during Op Market Garden.

Private Hughes died on 19 September 1944, aged 27 years old. He is now buried at Oosterbeek War Cemetery, Arnhem.
