Thomas Hayes passed through Depot, The Parachute Regiment and Airborne Forces, in platoon intake 141 and qualified as a military parachutist on course 466, which ran at RAF Abingdon from 28 April until 28 May 1958. His jump report states: “Discipline: Good. Para Ability: Good”
