Thomas Hutchinson McLean was the son of A. McLean and Elizabeth McLean, of Peebles.
Sapper McLean successfully completed his parachute training on the 28 September 1945. It was noted that he was a "good performer. Very sound intelligent parachutist. Is keen & able"
He was posted to 249 Field Company, Royal Engineers where he served in Palestine.
He was killed on the 4 December 1945 and is now buried in Ramleh War Cemetery, Israel.
