Lance Corporal Sydney A Price

Sydney Alfred Price was the son of Sydney Harold and Charlotte Eliza Price, of Belvedere, Kent, he enlisted in the Royal Berkshire Regiment and volunteered for airborne forces.

Lance Corporal Price successfully completed parachute training at RAF Ringway on course number 86 from 4 to 19 October 1943. His course report stated “Keen, hard working, efficient jumper, good leader”. He was posted to C Company, 7th Battalion, The Parachute Regiment and took part in operation Overlord (Normandy).

Pte Price was killed in action on 10 July 1944, age 26, and was buried in Ranville War Cemetery, Calvados, France.
