Stuart Wright joined 15 PARA in 1973 as a young 18 year old and went through pre-para training at Drip Camp, Stirling and at Barry Buddon. He qualified as a military parachutist at RAF Abingdon after passing P Company.
He took part in the ill fated NATO exercise in Germany as a young Private in which 6 members of the battalion lost their lives after dropping in to the Kiel canal.
He later attended a Patrol Commanders course at Brecon in Wales, and was then promoted to Lance Corporal. He was subsequently promoted to full Corporal after completing an instructors' course on a battalion cadre.
Stuart left 15 PARA in 1977.
