Trooper Ronald Guard

Ronald Guard was the son of Walter and Mary Lowe (Ray) Guard. He was born in West Derby, Liverpool. He enlisted in The Queen’s Own Cameron Highlanders and volunteered for Airborne Forces. He successfully completed parachute training at RAF Ringway and was posted to B Sqdn, 1st Special Air Service Regiment

He was murdered by a Nazi firing squad on 7 July 1944, aged 24 and is now buried in Rom Communal Cemetery, Southern France.
