Private Ronald Grundy

Private Ronald Grundy, son of Mr and Mrs S Grundy, was born in West Hartlepool. He joined the Army and served as the Battalion Public Relations Photographer with the The 2nd Battalion, The Parachute Regiment (2 PARA).

In October 1961, Pegasus magazine reported:

'It is with deep regret that we have to announce the death of Pte. R. Grundy, 2nd Battalion, The Parachute Regiment, killed in a motor accident in Cyprus in June. As Battalion public relations photographer he was a popular figure and an excellent photographer. We all express our deepest sympathy with his parents Mr. and Mrs. S. Grundy, [...] in their bereavement."

Private Grundy died on 11 June 1961, aged 20 years old. He is now buried at Dhekelia Cemetary, Cyprus.
