Once out of the Paras he became a paramedic, a job he loved and stayed till he retired.
He made a life long friend in The Regiment Private Richard Turnstill, they kept in touch regularly even though they lived 200 miles apart, each making the journey to meet up at least once a year, they were best man at each others weddings.
His grandfather, James Roden served and died with the Royal Welsh Fusiliers in WW1, his medals are on display at Caernarfon castle.
His father, James Roden served with the North Staffords in WW2
Ronald had two sons and a daughter and a wife Barbara.
