Ronald Cambrain Emmett was born and lived in Leeds, he enlisted in the Royal Army Service Corps, and volunteered for Airborne forces.
Driver Emmett successfully completed parachute training at RAF Ringway on course number 83 from 15 September to 24 September 1943. His course report stated “Erratic but can do exceedingly well”. He was posted to Royal Army Service Corps and attached to 225 Parachute Field Ambulance, Royal Army Medical Corps, and took part in Operation Overlord (Normandy).
Dvr Emmett was killed in action on 13 June 1944, aged 25, and was buried at Ranville War Cemetery, Calvados, France.
