Robert Loudon Arnott Cowan enlisted into Junior Parachute Company and served for 18 months before going to P Coy in March 1964.
He passed P Coy with 294 Platoon and in November 1965 was posted to the 2nd Battalion, The Parachute Regiment (2 PARA).
During his eleven years service he spent the majority of his service in the Drums Platoon, 2 PARA before later transferring to the Regimental Band.
Lance Corporal Cowan served in Aden and Northern Ireland, Singapore, Hong Kong, USA, Denmark, Malaya, Turkey, France and Germany.
L/Cpl Cowan left the Regiment in 1975.
