Lance Corporal Richard Frost

Richard Frost, of Colliers Wood, Surrey, enlisted into the Royal Norfolk Regiment and then volunteered for airborne forces.

Lance Corporal Frost successfully completed his parachute training on course number 35 at RAF Kabrit, Egypt, and was posted to Head Quarters Company, Carrier Platoon, 156 Battalion, The Parachute Regiment. He took part in Operation Market Garden (Arnhem).

L/Cpl Frost was killed in action by a gunshot wound to the throat on 18 September 1944, aged 23. He has no known grave and is commemorated on Groesbeek Memorial.
