Sergeant Reginald A Whittle

Sergeant Reginald Arthur Whittle, son of Richard Arthur and Florence Whittle, of Glebe Farm, Birmingham, originally enlisted Royal Warwickshire Regiment before transferring to B Coy, 8th Parachute Battalion. He conducted his parachute jump instruction at RAF Ringway. Course number 68, which ran from 14 to 27 June 1943. His instructor noted "Has made satisfactory progression"

Sergeant Whittle died from shrapnel wounds he received whilst on patrol on 27 January 1945, aged 25 years old. He is now buried at Venray War Cemetery, Limburg.
