Poul Christoffersen was the son of Christoffer and Marie Christoffersen, of Svendborg, Denmark.
Gunner Christoffersen successfully completed his parachute training on 25 July 1946. It was noted that he was a "Smart, well disciplined, good performer"
He was then posted to Royal Artillery depot in London before being transferred to the 87 (Airborne) Field Regiment where he served in Palestine.
He was killed in a terrorist attack on the 10 November 1947. He is now buried in Khayat Beach War Cemetery, Israel.
