Corporal Philip Estcourt Day was the son of Alexander Estcourt and Agnes Day, and husband of Sylvia Joyce Day, of Waltham Chase, Hampshire. He served with 1st Airborne Divisional Signals, Royal Corps of Signals.
He took part in the Battle of Arnhem, during Op Market Garden and was killed on 25 September 1944, aged 25 years old. He is now buried at Oosterbeek War Cemetery, Arnhem.
