Corporal Peter Woods was enlisted into The King's Regiment (Liverpool) and later volunteered for airborne forces.
He subsequently served with 13th Parachute Battalion during the Normandy campaign and the Ardennes, where he was killed in action.
Cpl Woods died on 4 January 1945, aged 29 years, and is now buried at Hotton War Cemetery, Belgium.
