Michael J P Bateman joined The Parachute Regiment in 1978.
He passed P Coy as a member of 443 Platoon and completed his parachute training at RAF Brize Norton.
Pte ‘Mike’ Bateman was posted to 3 PARA and saw active duty in Northern Ireland and the Falklands.
