Lew Shaw volunteered for The Parachute Regiment and attended parachute training course number 220B at RAF Upper Heyford between 4 and 29 July 1947. On completion of the course, Sapper Shaw was posted to the 9th Airborne Squadron RE.
Lew Shaw died on 17 November 2014 aged 87.
