Private Leslie Thomas Bowers, son of Mr and Mrs Thomas Bowers, of Kingsbury, Middlesex, served with 13th (South Lancs) Parachute Battalion. He took part in the Rhine Crossing, during Op Varsity.
Private Bowers died on 24 March 1945, aged 19 years old. He is now commemorated on the Memorial at Groesbeek Canadian War Cemetery, near Nijmegen.
Many of the other soldiers commemorated here died in the 1st Airborne fighting around Arnhem the previous Autumn.
