Gunner Leslie Reuben Hare was the son of Mr. and Mrs. F. W. Hare, of Fratton, Portsmouth.
He served with 210 Battery 53rd (The Worcestershire Yeomanry) Airlanding Light Regiment RA and took part in Operation Varsity, the assault to capture the Rhine crossing into Germany.
Gunner Hare died during the Operation on 24 March 1945 and is now commemorated on the Memorial at the Canadian War Cemetery, Groesbeek.
