Lieutenant Leslie Ives Wilson, son of John and Eva Wilson of St Helens, Lancashire, volunteered for airborne forces and undertook parachute training course No 11 which ran from 6-18 April 1942.
On 20 January 1943 he joined B Company, the 3rd Parachute Battalion in North Africa on Operation Torch.
Lt Wilson was Killed in Action on 26 February 1942, aged 23 years old. He is buried in Medjez-el-Bab War Cemetery, Tunisia.
