Kenneth Ernest Booth was born on 11th July 1926. He would have been only 16 years of age when he enlisted in 1943. A letter home from his father (serving in N. Africa with the Kings Royal Rifle Corps) shows that '...Ken is in a transit camp waiting to join a battalion' in August 1943.
Private Ken Booth served with 11th Parachute Battalion and took part in the Battle of Arnhem, during Op Market Garden.
Private Ken Booth died on 20th September 1944, two months after his 18th Birthday. He is now commemorated on the Memorial at Groesbeek Canadian War Cemetery, near Nijmegen.
