Keith 'Taff' Price enlisted into the Welsh Guards aged 19 in 1959.
Taff Volunteered for Airborne Forces in March 1960. He did his 'Hardening' course with Dennis Archer GGG, Tex Matthews MM GGG Dennis Topping IG, John Phillips SG Ron Forrester SG , Nick Denham IG, Foxy Fowler CG, those were the ones who passed selection of the 27 candidates.
Their Instructors were John McNaughton LG Ken Hart GGG, Jimmy Mercy IG.
Their instructors brought out the best indomitable mental and intestinal fortitude in their candidates to get them through the great challenge of Pegasus Company.
On a Parachute Drop in Kyrenia Cyprus in 1963, Taffs Leg was badly broken due to landing on rocks, John McCormack IG also broke his leg on the DZ immediate first aid and splinting was done by Dave McAllister SG 1. Both had to be 'CASEVAC'd' to BMH Hospital in RAF Akrotiri
Taff was medically discharged from the Army in 1964.
Taff served in various Countries. The Far East, Middle East , BAOR,
Most of his working life for 30 years was spent as a Production Engineer at the Royal Mint in Llantrisant Wales. His profile picture was taken at Pirbright in 1961.
Taff sadly passed away at the age of 84 on 17 August 2024 in Weston Hospital, Weston-Super-Mare.
