Private John T Cobb

John Thomson Cobb, son of David and Mary Cobb, of Carnoustie, Angus, enlisted into the Royal Scots Fusiliers and volunteered for airborne forces.

Private Cobb successfully completed his parachute training and was posted to 4 Platoon, A Company, 156 Parachute Battalion. He took part in Operation Market Garden (Arnhem).

Pte Cobb was killed in action at some time between 18 and 25 September 1944, aged 22. He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Groesbeek Memorial.
