Private John Owen Hughes, son of Ellen Williams, of Llanrwst, Denbighshire, served with 6th (Royal Welch) Parachute Battalion. He took part in the Italian campaign, during Autumn-Winter 1943.
Private Hughes died on 22 December 1943, aged 21 years old. He is now buried at Sangro River War Cemetery, near Taranto, Italy.
