Sapper John Alexander Matheson, son of Mr and Mrs J Matheson, served with 3rd Parachute Squadron, Royal Engineers and took part in the Normandy campaign.
He died on 6 June 1944, aged 20 years old. He is now buried at Ranville War Cemetery, Normandy.
