Captain John L Crichton

Captain John Louis Crichton, son of William Hay and Louise Crichton, of Wimbledon, Surrey, served with 3rd Parachute Battalion.

He took part in the North African campaign and died on 11 November 1942, aged 26 years old. He is now commemorated at the North Front Cemetery, Gibraltar.

Died at sea in an aeroplane crash en route from Gibraltar to North Africa. He never took part in the North African campaign.

Capt. Crichton is buried alongside Pte. Herbert William Reffold (3392720), 3rd Parachute Battalion, who I presume was his batman.
