Lance Corporal John Chapman

John Chapman was the son of Jonn and Jane Mary Chapman, and the nephew of Mrs F Graham, of Billingham, Co Durham. He served as a Lance Corporal with 12 Platoon B Company, of 1st Battalion Border Regiment (Airborne) and took part in the Battle of Arnhem, during Op Market Garden.

Lance Corporal Chapman died on 20 September 1944, aged 28 years old. He is now buried at Oosterbeek War Cemetery, Arnhem.
