James (Jack) Frost joined the Army in Aug 1957. He was a pupil at the Duke of Yorks Royal Military School in Dover from 1952-1957.
He was posted to BAOR on completion of boys service in 1960. He was a Line Technician in 21 Sig Regt. He volunteered and passed P Company in 1966 and joined 216 Para Sig Sqn, then part of 16 Para Bde.
Serving in NI with the Bde HQ in Lurgan. Jack left 216 in Nov 1972 on posted to 9 Sig Regt in Cyprus, and promoted to WO2. During his tour the Turks invaded in the summer of 1974.
He was then posted to the MOD on promotion to WO1 and served with the Signal Officer in Chiefs department.
Jack was commissioned in 1982 and posted to the School of Signals as a Troop Commander. After a year he was again posted to 63 SAS Sig Sqn (V) as a Captain, and appointed as 2IC and Adjutant. Serving there until Nov 2001.
Jack also served in the Queen's Body Guard of the Yeomen of the Guard from March 1995 to Nov 2010. He is now a Chelsea In Pensioner and lives in the Royal Hospital Chelsea.
