Private James Wilcock was born and lived in Lancashire. He enlisted in the Lincolnshire Regiment and volunteered for airborne forces.
He successfully completed parachute training and was posted to 156 Bn the Parachute Regiment.
He served in ‘A’ Company in Tunisia and was killed on 11 September 1943, aged 26 and is commemorated in Bari War Cemetery, Italy.
