James Randle, son of William and Jane Annie Randle, of Barnsley, Yorkshire West Riding, enlisted into the King’s Own Yorkshire Light Infantry and then volunteered for airborne forces.
Private Randle successfully completed his training at Ringway on course 123 on 3 July to 17 July 1944. He was posted to The 7th (Light Infantry) Parachute Battalion.
Pte Randle died in an accident on 9 January 1945, aged 32.
He is buried at Rochefort Communal Cemetery, Namur, Belgium.
