Corporal James McGregor Rogers was the son of John and Agnes A Rogers, of Cambuslang, Lanarkshire, and husband of Rose Ann Rogers.
He began his military service with the Royal Artillery, before beginning his Airborne career following completion of Parachute Course 109 at RAF Ringway in early April 1944. He served with B Company, 8th (Midlands) Parachute Battalion and took part in the D-Day landings in Normandy, during Op Overlord.
Corporal Rogers died on 6 June 1944, aged 26 years old. He is now buried at Banneville-la-Campagne War Cemetery, Normandy.
