Trooper James Godfrey Salmon, son of James Thornehill Salmon and Minnie Salmon, of Leigh-on-Sea, Essex, served with 1st Airborne Recce Squadron, Reconnaissance Corps. He took part in the Battle of Arnhem, during Op Market Garden.
Trooper Salmon died on 19 September 1944, aged 19 years old. He is now buried at Oosterbeek War Cemetery, Arnhem.
