Jack Churchill son of Albert and Bessie Churchill of Rockwell Green, Somerset, enlisted into the Somerset Light Infantry Regiment.
He volunteered for airborne forces and served with the 2nd Battalion, the Parachute Regiment and went on Operation Torch in North Africa.
Private Churchill was killed in action on 29 December 1942 aged 25 years. He is buried at Medjez-El-Bab War Cemetery in Tunisia.
