Hubert George Marshall was born in Ross on Wye in Herefordshire. He enlisted in the Hereford Regiment on 10 March 1936.
He volunteered for The Parachute Regiment and attended Parachute Training Course number 13 at RAF Ringway between 4 and 21 May 1942.
Private Marshall was posted to HQ Company, 1st Parachute Battalion, and in November 1942 embarked for North Africa, to take part in Operation Torch.
Private Marshall was demobbed from service on 25 March 1946.
